Steven Halim attended the Florida State University from 1995 until his graduation in 1999 with a Bachelor of Science degree, majoring in Criminology/Criminal Justice.
Shortly after, Steven was accepted and enrolled into The Shepard Broad Law Center of Nova Southeastern University, where Steven earned his Doctor of Jurisprudence in 2002.While in law school, Steven interned with The State of Florida, Office of the Attorney General, Criminal Appellate Unit.
While in that capacity, Steven authored 25 appellate briefs and argued appellate cases in the Third and Fourth District Courts of Appeals.Steven also interned at the Office of the Public Defender for the Seventeenth Judicial Circuit of Florida, in Broward County.
While in that position, Steven represented clients charged with misdemeanor offenses at every stage of their cases.Steven's first job after law school was with the Office of the Public Defender for the Ninth Judicial Circuit of Florida in both Orange and Osceola counties.
While employed there, Steven represented clients charged with misdemeanor and felony charges, at every stage of their cases.
Steven obtained invaluable trial experience while an Assistant Public Defender and came into contact with thousands of people in need of representation on their charges.
While with the Public Defender, Steven was awarded the County Court Advocate Award, by his bosses and peers, as the attorney who exhibited the highest level of professionalism and dedication to his clients for the 2002-2003 year.In August of 2004, Steven left the Public Defender to start his own criminal defense firm.
He formed Halim & Pratt, LLC and endeavored to represent clients charged with crimes in the Central Florida area.
Steven has represented clients charged with everything from First Degree Murder to Driving Under the Influence and every thing in between.Steven has extensive experience conducting pre-trial motions, trials, post-trial motions and appeals.Steven lives in Apopka with his son and enjoys watching the Los Angeles Dodgers and Dallas Cowboys play games.
