The Muhammad Islamic Center, also known as the Abdul-Majid Karim Hasan Islamic Center, has been in the area for more than a half a century.
It is one of the oldest mosques in the New Haven region and bears the name of its Imam, Abdul-Majid Karim Hasan.
It marks its 51st anniversary in November 2010 and attracts worshipers from throughout the region.
