The Islamic Association of Indianapolis was founded in 2001 by a group of African families, predominantly from West African countries such as the Republic of Benin, Nigeria, and Guinea.
Borne out of the need for a place to worship, these Muslim brothers and sisters together with their families, decided to meet weekly for the cause of Allah.
They engaged in worship together in the form of dhikr, (remembrance of Allah), Quran recitation and Islamic education.
