Established in 1962.
Unity Spiritual Center was originally founded by Mary Gladys Adams on May 11, 1962 when she initiated a prayer and study group that met in individual homes. The group added a Friday class at Oakmont Recreation Center. On February 20, 1969 Mary Adams made her transition and Rev. Bernice Biggers, associate minister of Unity Church of Phoenix became the congregation's minister. Rev. Biggers led the Unity Church in Rockford, Illinois and taught at Unity School of Christianity. In November of 1971, the first regular Sunday services were held in the First Federal Savings and Loan Building on Del Web Blvd. The present property on Coggins Drive was purchased in 1976 with a dedication held on April 16, 1976 and a ground breaking on December 13, 1977. The first service was conducted in the new building–the current administrative building on May 21, 1978.
