>In 2009, Zaytuna College was founded in Berkeley, California, with a mission that called for grounding students in the Islamic scholarly tradition as well as in the cultural currents and critical ideas shaping modern society. The Summer Arabic Intensive, a residential language program, was its first academic offering, and the undergraduate program welcomed its inaugural freshman class in fall 2010. In March 2015, Zaytuna earned accreditation from the Western Association of Schools and Colleges, becoming the first accredited Muslim college in the United States.

a month agoThis review is strictly for lack of communication. I contacted the college 4 times (2 phone voicemails and 2 emails) over the past 6 months, asking for information regarding enrollment and till this day, no response and no communication. It doesn't feel good writing this review but maybe holding them accountable will help them do better with communication.

a year agoSuperb college with a great Islamic liberal arts program. I am one of the 12000 members and have received wonderful First Command Book Club courses. I hope someday I can visit this place, insyaAllah.

6 years agoI am an avid follower of Zaytuna and wanted to visit the college. I was greeted very warmly and ushered in by a great staff member who offered a school tour and numerous book suggestions in the bookstore. He spent over 2 hours with me was very patient answered all questions; the students were very nice and welcoming. Overall excellent experience. I hope to go again , I hope the school continues to grow.

8 years agoThe first accredited Muslim liberal arts college in America, and perhaps one of the best colleges in the country. The college has a phenomenal faculty and a solid curriculum. Reviving both the classical liberal arts, and the rich Islamic tradition - good things are bound to come out of this college.
