When human beings are unable to resolve their differences, a solution is always found when one understands and appreciates the different cultures and traditions of others. Because Tania grew up in a home full of diversity and a huge family that inevitably experienced adversity, she always had a burning desire to become an attorney, to be a problem solver.

In 2007, Tania graduated with distinction from Western Michigan University Law School. She began her career with the Washtenaw County Public Defender's Office in Michigan and later joined the Cuyahoga County Prosecutor's Office. For approximately 7 years, Tania served as “Of Counsel” for McGinty, Hilow & Spellacy Co. LPA where she primarily practiced in the areas of crimmigration, family visas, and citizenship cases.    She continued to focus her efforts on family immigration and removal issues as the Immigration Senior Attorney at Catholic Charities, Diocese of Cleveland.

Tania currently serves as a magistrate for the Akron Municipal Court where she presides over small claims and eviction matters.

Tania has previously served as vice-president of the West Shore Bar Association (WSBA).  She is a longstanding member of the Ohio Chapter of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) and the Immigration Customs Enforcement liaison for the Northern District of Ohio.  She has also volunteered on multiple occasions at the Family Detention Center along the southern border in Dilley, TX.  Tania published a professional article, Criminal and Immigration Laws: The Lines and The Lives They Cross, in the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Journal.  She currently lives in Hudson, Ohio with her husband, Joe and their three vibrant children.
