Miriam Saffo knew she wanted to help people since she was in grade school.

As it turned out, she was drawn to becoming an attorney as the best way to meet her career goals–and family law drew her heart.

During her law studies at Michigan State University, Miriam worked for Ingham County Courts in many roles–including Friend of the Court–where parents were encouraged to work out issues such as child custody, support, and parenting time.

Advocating for the interests of children takes special knowledge and skills that Miriam has.  She's resolved difficult divorces where parents first focused on dividing property but lost sight of the bigger picture–the future of their kids.  Miriam got parents back on track to understand that everyone benefits by acting cooperatively, not as adversaries.

Miriam uses an equally collaborative approach with attorneys who represent the other party, building positive relationships and timely communications in the interest of all sides.

A strong advocate for mediation and other amicable settlements, Miriam found in NSSS&B the same commitment, which the firm pioneered decades ago and is a recognized leader now and going forward.

Miriam serves clients in Oakland, Wayne, Macomb and Washtenaw counties.
