They sent a bill to collections in less than 8 weeks. Called them and they said the bill is with another department but still within Bay Imaging. When I was transferred it was a collector. In CA a company is supposed to wait 180 days at least before send a medical bill to collections. Seems like some questionable practices.

Something funky is going on with this group. I too was sent to collections for what I have no idea. No bill matching the collections amount. Something feels off. Do not use this group.

Wow. Just read the comments and I am glad it was not sent to collections. I know I had work done but the way this company handles billing is atrocious. They call and leave message asking you to call back. When you do they proceed to ask for identifying information. The reason why everyone thinks this place is a scam is because this is the exact process people get scammed by every day. They probably have a higher rate of sending to collections than other billing departments just due to the way they are asking for them. It means they are bad at their job or make more money doing it this way. They refused to talk to me but gave me my reference number after I refused to answer personal questions because I thought it was a scam. This is a poor attempt at security, or perhaps HIPPA compliance. I didn't confirm my identify but they gave me a reference number that let me see procedure and billing information that they refused to talk to me about over the phone. Hint for future reference call them back, get mad, tell them they are a scam, get a reference number then view and pay online.

My low rating is for the billing department of Bay Imaging Consultants. It is the worst medical billing department I’ve ever dealt with, and I’ve dealt with many. They seem to be incapable of sending paper bills to my physical address. Rather, they call, leave vague messages with no clue what it is regarding and request a call back. I’ve called back every time. Then they just verbally request payment even though I have received no bill. I’ve asked twice, weeks apart, for the paper bill for a service from 5 months ago and nothing is received after confirming my physical address TWICE. When I called today, they told me I had asked for an emailed bill. I just can’t believe it. No, that is not what I’ve requested multiple time. I’d almost start to think they were a scam, but I’ve had imaging done, so I probably do owe them money. Their entire billing process is pretty scary especially when you read other reviewers comments about being turned over to collections. Today I am driving to their office to pick up a bill since they seem incapable of mailing it. I’ve never had to do that with any other company. The sad part is, this seems to be the company the manages most or all non- Kaiser Radiologist in Walnut Creek, so it’s a monopoly in this area. As another reviewer said, you may want to request going to Oakland or San Francisco for imaging to avoid billing problems or being turned over to collections. Overall, it just doesn’t seem that difficult to provide paper bills to patients/customers. I don’t understand this company’s business practices, the worst I’ve encountered when I just want to do the right thing; pay what I owe based on a bill. Their billing practices must be many times more expensive for them than the cost of a stamp, especially given the time I’ve spent on the phone with billing department.

Bay Imaging didn't sent a paper bill. Was sent to collections. Also, I didn't choose to use these guy (clinic defaulted to them). Lastly, they bill separately from the clinic... So you may think you paid off your medical bill but Bay Imaging sneakingly bills you separately without sending an actual bill. If you can somehow avoid them, please save yourself the headache and time.
