Dr. Susan Jarakian, known affectionately by her patients as Dr. Susie, established her pediatric dental practice, Kids Choice Dental in Northridge, CA in 2009. Born and raised in the San Fernando Valley, she received her bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Santa Barbara in 2000. Dr. Jarakian earned her Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of Southern California, School of Dentistry in 2004. She continued her specialty education at Boston University’s Goldman School of Dental Medicine where she completed her pediatric residency in 2006. Upon her return to the San Fernando Valley, she worked as a pediatric dentist associate in Porter Ranch for the next three years.
Dr. Jarakian reaches out to the community by conducting dental education workshops to children and teachers in schools. She has volunteered with the San Fernando Valley Dental Society and was the 2012 Program Chair and 2013 Chair of the New Dentist Committee. Dedicated to the oral health of children, she has led numerous dental missions in Southern California and Massachusetts, as well as Belize, and Armenia. She is an active member of the American Dental Association, California Dental Association, San Fernando Valley Dental Society, American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, California Society of Pediatric Dentistry, and Armenian American Medical Society.
Dr. Susie lives in the San Fernando Valley with her husband Gevork Kazanchyan and their son Vonn. She is fluent in Armenian and her hobbies include cooking, nature walks, fishing, and running 5K’s with her Kid’s Choice Dental Team.

5 years agoMy kids are older (16) and I called to see if she would see them because they just got out of braces and we just moved to SFV. They took them with no problem, did their cleanings, and were able to see them for treatment right way (within a week). We originally seen Dr. Susie then Dr. Erica which were both lovely and explained everything in detail! I hate when they don't explain procedures to me, which was not the case here. My girls loved them and want to continue here. The Doctors said they will still see them until 18-19 but if they need extensive treatment, will be referred out cause of their age. But overall I am pleased! I would def recommend!

7 years agoDr. Jarakian has been a great dentist for our toddlers, ages 2 and half years and 19 months at their most recent visits. Her office is well-equipped for young patients and she has provided beneficial information on best practice and care for both. We have been fortunate. I recommend anyone with children to make sure to have them see a pediatric dentist. For colleagues and friends in the valley, I highly recommend Jarakian.
