I accompanied my mother. My mother was met with an attitude that was both dismissive and demeaning. His behavior was rude and unhelpful which not only left her feeling dismissed but also feeling physically and emotionally distrubed.Dr. Kaisey showed frustration, criticism, and condescending demeanor towards my mother. My mother spoke respectfully, honestly, and politely. My mother and every patient deserves to be treated with dignity and empathy. Unfortunately, she didn’t receive that. He was condescending and belittling her the entire time. So many events happened but I will focus on one: When he noticed that she scored high on the risk for depression form, he directly asked her if she felt depressed. She said, “yes”, Dr. Kaisey then sharply asked her, “Why?” When my mother tried to briefly explain her reasons,Dr. Kaisey diverted the conversation to talk about his own qualifications and knowledge of diabetes. He claimed to have worked with the World Health Organization and alongside renowned endocrinologists, emphasizing that a person with diabetes in poor condition is either a "bad patient or has had a bad doctor." He told my mother to trust him and take the medications he would prescribe. Afterward, he leaned in and asked, "Does that make you feel better?" in an inappropriate attempt to address her depression. He later towards the very end of the visit, presented my mother with a choice,“If you do not want to be here in 15 years,..like if you decide you wanna kills yourself and you won’t be here in 15 years anyways, then don’t take the medications. If you wanna be here in 15 years and not be a burden on your family then take it” he says. This was reckless and negligent. We are both in shock. I don't know if that was sarcasm or just pessimistic, either way it was disgusting to hear.
