I found Dr. Kelada through my insurance website. I made an appointment as a new patient and to have a suspected kidney stone looked at. I went to my first appointment and had weird vibes from the moment I entered the dilapidated and run down building. There are papers tapped all throughout the "lobby" talking about $50 fees if you cancel an appointment and how it is the patient's responsibility to confirm pricing. I arrived 15 minutes early for my appointment to complete paperwork and was finally called back to the exam room 15 minutes AFTER my APPOINTMENT time (so, 30 minutes after I arrived). I was seen by a "medical student", not Dr. Kelada. The medical student was kind and compassionate, she listened well and took notes. She then said she would go "make a plan with the Dr.". About 10 minutes later, after hearing the entire conversation from the next room through the paper-thin walls, a man burst into the exam room without knocking and barked a question at me. There was no introduction, he called me by the wrong name, he was abrupt. He then demanded a urine sample in one of the dirtiest restrooms I have ever seen. About 10 minutes later he burst into the exam room again, still no introduction, no explanation about the results of the urine test if there was any, no questions and started typing into the computer. He then told me he ordered some labs and imaging and that I needed to get them done RIGHT AWAY. And then he looked me in my face and told me he thought it wasn't a kidney stone, but shingles... at 36, but he said the test for shingles "doesn't work", so to just keep an eye out. Even the medical student, whom I never actually authorized to treat me, looked confused by this declaration. I went and got the labs and imaging done first thing the next morning (Friday) with results coming in by noon on Friday (9mm kidney stone). Then I waited, in pain all weekend until 9am on Monday morning when I called the office to find out why I had not heard anything. Theresa, who answered the phone was rude and told me the results had not come in and I had to call the imaging lab because "she doesn't work for the lab or you". I asked to speak to the office manager. Denise got on the phone briefly before putting John Kelada on the phone who immediately called me a liar and an idiot. I explained to him that I was frustrated that I had been left in pain all weekend and he told me it was not his office's fault if the imaging lab never sent the results. I subsequently called the imaging lab and confirmed the results were faxed to the Dr. per his request at 10:16am on Friday morning, 5 minutes after the imaging was read. I tried to call the Dr. office back to let them know they should check their fax machine more often, but they have stopped answering the phone... for numerous phone numbers. If you care about your health and being respected as a human being and a patient, go anywhere else.

I have had several doctors over the years and Dr Kelada is always excellent. He really cares about my health and has extensive knowledge and experience with a great bedside manner. He is always friendly and trustworthy and i'm always happy to see medical interns there learning from him and helping understand my health concerns. The office is basic but i'm not interested in an expensive cosmetic treatment spa environment - just a great doctor with a stable and friendly staff and that's what his practice is all about.

Dr. Kelada was my mother's doctor while she lived in an assisted living facility. When my mother started to rapidly loose weight, become more forgetful, and lost her appetite, I sent a letter to Dr. Kelada requesting that my mother be allowed to take a daily vitamin, and I explained why I wanted that for her. I included previous lab results and offered to provide peer review studies that would support this simple request. Also, I asked that she be allowed to have a daily dose of Omega 3, a required nutrient for everyone, but especially the elderly and those suffering from dementia. Her skin is peeling away and bruises almost to the touch. After waiting four weeks I realized that Dr. Kelada was not going to even respond to my request, however, I was informed by the facility that my request had been denied, with no explanation. I work with geriatric doctors every day, so I know that there was no conceivable reason for denying her this basic and simple request. If there was, it would have been a kindness to inform me, since I'm obviously distressed over her decline, and I had gone to all the trouble of writing and support a letter to this doctor. (I also put same request through nurse at mom's facility to pass along to Dr. Kelada), I have found it nearly impossible to be involved in the care of my mother. Very, very sad. Very distressing.

Terrible!!! 0 stars..I came here due to a long history of migranes for a FMLA certificate. I’ve been a Kaiser patient for 37 years and never had an issue getting a doctors note. First off the office smelled dirty and old. He was very condescending and made comments “If I had to do FMLA paperwork it would give me a headache” and “I’ll refer you to someone who might do the paperwork.” He also corrected me when I pronounced a word incorrectly. In my insight he has no respect for his patients. I had no issues who’s staff and hope they find a reasonable employer elsewhere. Also, medical history was not obtained during my first appointment. His trainee was amazing and I hope she finds someplace better..
