History

Established in 2006.

M. Yahya “Medy” Sanadidi, PhD, a professor of computer science at UCLA, founded Bella Pita in 2006 in partnership with his son, Ezedin Sanadidi. Originally from Egypt, they were thrilled to find growing demand for Mediterranean cuisine everywhere they traveled. After years of perfecting some of the current Bella Pita menu items at home (2003 to 2006), Bella Pita opened its doors for customers at its first location at 960 Gayley Ave in March of 2007. A second location at 3013 S Figueroa Street, close to USC, started to provide the same menu in September 2013.

Bella Pita is right near UCLA. Parking is for a fee and can get pricey. The food is amazing. They have the best pita sandwiches, all made to order and all served warm with fresh pita bread. We Love the kind service and they are fast. You order and pay at the counter and there are a few indoor seats to eat. Many people get it as take away. There is not one thing we don't like there. The prices are fair. Have fun.

I really liked this place! The prices are reasonable (around $10-13), and the food is fresh. The restaurant staff were also very warm and friendly. We ordered the classic falafel pitas and a falafel bowl; getting to add our own toppings and sauces was a creative idea!

Fast and fresh and affordable. I usually get the chicken wowshi (hot and crunchy baked to order pita). They have a toppings and sauce bar where you can load up on your fav combos. More of a grab and go place since there's 3 seats total inside.

I was interested and I stopped by. I got a chicken pita. The chicken was so dry and flavorless. Even with the cucumbers and tomatoes and sauce, it was still a massive disappointment and a waste of $19. It's overpriced and not good. It's just not good.

I have nothing but good things to say about this place .. I mean, it’s criminal to be in this area of UCLA hospital and NOOOT stop here and get a pita. My favorite is the black bean wowshi with all the fixings and the icing on the cake for this place is all the delicious sauces! If you are in the area, please stop in and try it out!
