How in the world is this restaurant scoring a 4.7 rating? Had the kabob with Turkish coffee. The kabob was just thrown onto a stick and fired up (absolutely no effort in getting it shaped, nor properly cooked). Meat was chewy and uneven on the stick -so depressing to look at, and hard to cut through with the knife. The pita bread tasted old. The coffee was good, but the cup and dish it came on was dusty and unclean. The kabob is $19+. Altogether, spent about $25 per person. Was excited to dine here due to the high rating, but ended up disappointed due to the food quality.
This restaurant may be due for a inspection. Two stars for the friendly server and drinks.
I usually don’t write bad reviews because small businesses needs support but that food was worse than anything I ate in my life fries are cooked in a dirty oil, I ordered beef kabob and they gave me chicken breast instead my wife chicken lula was whatever with no seasoning, canned hummus and even the Kunafa taste like old frozen and artificial.
The only good thing they have is bread.
Don’t go there for food at all because it’s very expensive and it taste bad there’s many options in town cheaper or taste like something edible at least.
80$ To trash if I ate there I would have not paid for this food and they need to get inspected.
Food was fresh, esp the pita breads, and tasted really good. The lamb burger had juicy patties. My daughter loved her chicken schnitzel. The gyro platter was juicy and soft.
I lived in the Middle East for 21 years and the meal we had at Amena was as good or better than anything I ever had in the ME.
We went out for a family lunch and the meal and service we had was great. The food is prepared fresh and well seasoned. Good portions and plenty of sides. I definitely recommend the bread and hummus with beans. Best I have had.
We also took some bread to go.
The service was great and the place seems to be run by an Arabic couple. My wife is Egyptian so it also gave her a chance to speak Arabic.
If you want some authentic food that is prepared in a traditional way this is the place to go.

2 years agoLove this place not for its very simple decor or style. The food is tasty and large portions are served very fresh. The pita is so soft and pillowy.
